Sun 9 January 2022
It’s January and the hills are slowly turning wintery. So it was time to get out for the first winter climb of 2022. Iain was keen to do something so I persuaded him Pinnacle Gully (an obscure Grade II gully in Winter Corrie on Driesh) looked like it was worth a visit.
A leisurely winter climbing start so us leaving the car at 9:30 for the hour or so’s walk (slog) into the corrie. The weather was beautiful but the climbing conditions were challenging with lots of unconsolidated snow. It still proved to be a great fun wee route, with a couple of small challenges.
Great start to the season and let’s hope next week’s thaw isn’t too devastating!
