The “Dad Joke” meet! Don’t worry, you won’t get any in this meet report. In fact it seems that most people on the meet did everything they could to avoid the purveyor of said groan-worthy puns. The Dom-machines did their Munro bagging on Friday, cunningly managing to do the same hills at the same time but in opposite directions. The real-ale van man then carried the weekend’s food down the rough track while the rest of us walked and cycled the 8km to the hut in the dark. Big plans were hatched for Saturday, mainly to avoid the Dad jokes, with groups aiming in all directions. Several of the girls walked about as far away as you can get – 30km to Mullach na Dheiragain. The Doms set off to run all the Munros in the area, although sadly thwarted by too much snow. Others picked another epic walk, finally managing to throw the punner off the scent at the final summit. Back at the hut, a magnificent meal cooked up by Dom filled us all, including the additional Chris who had camped out the previous night (to avoid the jokes?).
