Friday 3 – Sunday 6 April 2026

DMC’s patented bad-weather repelling device has been used successfully on Skye for the last few years but the batteries ran out and Storm Dave was forecast to join us this weekend. Plans for the Cuillin ridge were significantly damped, a number of people planning to visit Macleod’s Tables instead. The ridge-goers chose Bruach na Frithe to minimise time spent in gale-force winds and rain. As it turned out the weather was fine, if a bit misty on the ridge, and the snow was some of the best in the Cuillin for years. Back at the hut, water sports were on the menu – body boarding in the storm surf at Glenbrittle beach. Jenny’s first meet and she volunteered to cook the communal meal, a great effort! Afterwards the Easter eggs came out – but not of the chocolate kind – artistic painting for Sunday egg rolling.
