Blackrock Cottage is a delightful venue for a weekend’s mountain activity set below the White Corries with the classic view to Buachaille Etive Mor and Glen Coe beyond.

Chris and I were first to arrive after an afternoon on Fiarach near Tyndrum to find the kitchen still warm from the previous occupants. By the time the last arrivals of the day came in, the living room was cosy too with a blazing coal fire!

Saturday saw a party of 5 on Buachaille Etive Beag and 3 on Glas Bheinn Mhor, both in snowy raiment high up. Simon & Nick arrived early and took on Sgòr na h-Ulaidh as their proposed winter climbing route wasn’t in best condition. Some of us took in the pool & sauna at The Isles of Glencoe before Simon & Nick’s curry creation and a birthday celebration for Lesley back at the cottage!

Sunday brought varying degrees of activity along the Black Corries Lodge track preceded by yoga for some with Isabel and Paulina following on with a sunny circuit near Gleneagles.
