Far be it from me to upstage Paul’s heroic Munro Compleation on Saturday – which will linger long in the memory, proving that no matter what gear you have the Elements can always win.
Instead just a brief note on making the approach from KinlochHourn to Barrisdale which must be one of the finest walks in the country. I last came this way in 1993… The contrast between Thurs eve at the end of a month long dry spell and the walk out on Sunday with a following westerly and cold front showers following Saturday’s deluge only added to the experience, the only constant being the midges which now seem to able to survive in strong sunshine…
Managing to take in Luinne Bheinn and Meall Bhuidhe carrying all my camping stuff was also a high point (literally, with a full pack…).
Barrisdale has to be on the list for future meets – who knows Paul could come and get a view from Ladhar Bheinn!!
