Encouraged by the continued good weather, mending ankles and various receding respiratory conditions, Rich, Hedda, Dave and I decided on a day out for climbing at Auchinstarry – a venue none of us had been to before.

The day turned out absolutely perfect! After coffee and breakfast near the crag (where cutting up muffins and eggs doubled as upper body warm-up) we were treated to 4 hours of trad climbing in the glorious sunshine. Everybody had a good time and satisfying climbing success but the crowning achievement goes to Dave for managing an E2!

The only disappointment was that by the time we had finished, the ice cream van had moved on and we were forced to leave without a well-deserved sweet treat.
