The weekend weather forecast looked OK-ish for a change so I joined Allan, Niall, Danny, Kevin, Jon and Hazel for a hike up to Ben Vorlich (Loch Earn, not to be confused with the other Ben Vorlich by Loch Lomond) and Stuc a’Chroin. A good path led up from the loch, unfortunately height gained was inversely correlated with visibility and the summit trig-point photos involved taking photos of mist from all angles. A pre-existing injury meant Hazel and Jon decided to head back down, everyone else continued on to a damp and slightly unpleasant rocky scramble up to Stuc a’Chroin, and another photo of the mist. We found an easier route to descend back to the car, uneventful until we ran into a shooting party facing across the path. Luckily no-one was mistaken for a pheasant, and after a burger at the Clachan Cottage Hotel we headed back home.
