Despite the ground conditions in most places not favouring mountain bikers, Roland and I managed to get a good run up Dumyat, near Stirling. Parking up in Bridge of Allan, we trundled up the side of the hill on mixed surfaces before reaching the summit in high winds. The view was spectacular, but conditions forced us back down before too long. wasn’t always easy to steer in a straight line with the winds, but loads of line choices and tech sections meant an interesting descent – despite some very soft going. Two falls on my part – both soft, both amusing. I’d never ridden Mine Woods before, but we snuck in on the way back down to finish the ride with loads of rooty, muddy, fun singletrack. Short(ish) and sweet, with a little bit of everything! Classic British MTB.
