Saturday 21 – Monday 23 September 2024

On Saturday evening three of us met in Cluanie for a long weekend trip to Skye. The good weather on Saturday was not wasted, as Iain and Sandy did all 7 Munros on the south Glen Shiel ridge, while Paul and Martim bagged Binnen Beag and Sgùrr Èilde Mòr from Kinlochleven.

On Sunday, the glorious weather gave perfect conditions for climbing the Inaccessible Pinnacle, followed by Sgùrr Mhic Chòinnich and Sgùrr Alasdair.

Monday provided a more atmospheric weather, typical of Skye: low clouds, fog, and loads of midges. Nevertheless, the party persevered and found its way scrambling through the fog (thanks to Iain) to climb Bruach na Frìthe, Am Basteir, and Sgùrr nan Gillean. An overall cracking weekend, leaving Paul with only 11 Munros left!
