Glenshee Hillwalking (Nov 2013)

Sunday 17th November 2013

Having been unable to make it to the hills last weekend when they were covered in snow and basking in sunshine, Hazel & I were glad to see a good forecast for Sunday for the Cairngorms – especially after Saturday’s 80mph winds! We headed to Glenshee for a short walk up Meall Gorm, Creag Leacach, Glas Maol and Meall Odhar, returning via Leacann Dubh. It was a crisp and clear morning with blue skies and expansive views, but at -3C in the valley we were glad the winds were light!

Surprisingly

there was hardly any snow left at all despite having seen pictures of a white-topped Glas Maol taken just a few days earlier. There must have been some heavy rain since then!
