Roybridge (Aug 2024)

Friday 30 August – Sunday 1 September 2024

I had the pleasure of joining the Dundee Mountain Club for a fantastic experience in the Scottish Highlands. We stayed at Riasg Hostel in Roybridge, which had an ideal location and great views. The hostel had a good atmosphere and had all the necessary facilities at a competitive price.

One of the highlights of the trip was successfully hiking the four Munros of the Grey Corries. Certainly challenging but extremely rewarding trek offered stunning view. The location was ideal, with many other Munros nearby for future hikes!

In the evening, I enjoyed the communal meal with other club members and had good chance to be acquainted with other club members. Finally, having good luck with the weather certainly made a difference. I look forward to more adventures with the Dundee Mountain Club in the future.

I had joined last minute however I was still able to join on some groups hiking the grey corries on Saturday, and another peak by a dam. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

The first hike was a 22km and I got to see a valley I had camped before from the nearby ridge which was quite cool to see where I walked from a birds eye view. After the hike at the hut we had a very nice dinner and a rhubarb crumble. I also got the opportunity to try some lingonberries that were picked by one of the club members that day.
