Glen Bruar Mountain Biking (Nov 2012)

Saturday 10th November 2012

After last weekend’s epic ride a shorter easier route was desired by the club mountain bikers.
Alex suggested a loop of Glen Bruar and Glen Banavie from an old guide book which was agreed upon, unfortunately Niall had some mechanical issues from the previous weekend so opted for a bike from the same period as the book.

The loop took 3 hours taking in some easy estate road and some boggy single track (Marked in the guide book as Hike a Bike), for once it was Niall holding the group up as he clattered over rocks with no suspension and rediscovered the biggest joy of Rim Brakes, running out of them.

This route appears to be adaptable to include a climb of Beinn Dearg before descending to Bruar Lodge and pushing out down to the Fall of Bruar.
We plan to attempt this in the future.
