Knowing that there’ll be tea and cake at the end always seems to make getting out for a rainy ride easier. With this in mind, Niall and Alex had a go at Glentress’s black route on a damp Saturday. As good as the red is, the black gets a bit closer to wild biking in feel, especially on the outer limits of the loop – especially as you start to see fewer and fewer riders out there. Great fun, but rough going for Niall on a hardtail. After a quick hose down of bikes and bods, it was time for the obligatory stop in the café before heading home.
