This year’s island adventure was to Barra with a large side of neighbouring ones. Reached via Oban or Glasgow airport, the main party were based at Dunard Hostel in Castlebay whilst I podded with Alex at Borve. The sailing trips followed on days 2 & 3 with the weather improving day by day with proper sun on day 4 with some folk kayaking to Vatersay, some heading for Barra’s highest point and some beach hunting. A great meal was had at Kisimul Cafe on the final evening before a morning on Traigh Sgurabhal for some before the flight back or an extra night! Thanks, as ever, to Niall for organising the annual island meet.
