The last minute posted plan to cycle into Luibeg and tackle a round of 3 Munro’s got into action Sun morn, chasing the remaining blue sky over the Cairnwell into Deeside. Bikes at the ready for a rapid approach into Derry Lodge, then not quite so rapid on the more challenging path along to Luibeg. Carn a Mhaim ticked, you then realise there is another 500m of ascent to Macdui. Some sizeable and still very skiable snow patches down towards Loch Etchachan, as well as over on Garbh Coire Mor on Braeriach – will the ‘Sphinx’ survive this summer?

Not forecast to stay clear and sunny all day we did nonetheless manage to avoid getting wet, had some pleasant evening sunshine on the ride out!

Despite missing chips in Braemar 🙁 a very enjoyable day out, and definitely some luck with the weather.
